Aire Logic is proud to have won the Paperlite Project of the Year category of the Public Sector Paperless Awards 2018 with our partner Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
The winning project was scan4safety, a joint venture between Aire Logic and Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust. Scan4safety makes aspects of the EHR available on mobile devices, allowing staff to open the EHR by scanning the patient’s wristband, and perform activities such as associating the patient with products (e.g. heart stent) or locations (e.g. ward and bed number.) The project has already delivered substantial time and cost savings.
Our joint ppm+ eForms solution was also shortlisted in the Best Use of E-Forms category of the awards.
The Public Sector Paperless Awards celebrate digital transformation across the whole of the public sector, specifically recognising organisations who are finding innovative digital solutions that reduce reliance on paper.
This year, the awards received over 250 entries. Each submission was considered by an expert panel of judges, with representatives from institutions including Tech UK, NHS England and the Parliamentary Digital Services. We were delighted when two of our projects were shortlisted back in April.
The winners were announced at the Public Sector Paperless Awards 2018 ceremony, held at the Manchester Hilton and attended by over 200 representatives from across the public sector.
Dr. Michael Odling-Smee, Co-Founder of Aire Logic said “At Aire Logic we pride ourselves on being more than just a supplier: We have a strong collaborative and transparent way of working, aiming to be viewed as a delivery partner by our customers, and become truly part of the team with shared objectives. We believe this model is the best way to combine our expertise, NHS organisation priorities, and to allow innovation to flourish to the benefit of us, the NHS, and patients.
We are delighted to win this award in recognition of both the innovations themselves as well as an endorsement of the partnership approach. Together, Aire Logic and LTHT have created an eForms solution that has significantly reduced paper use across the Trust, with some areas of operations now completely paperless. The scan4safety project is a brilliant example of how the central eForms solution can support wider innovation and bring additional benefits to the Trust. Our ongoing work together is allowing clinical staff to spend more time with patients, providing huge financial savings for the Trust, and improving patient outcomes. It is only through such a productive ongoing partnership that these achievements have been possible.”
A spokesperson from LTHT said “In Leeds we have a Digital Strategy that seeks to combine improved patient safety with greater efficiencies and lower costs. Being able to perform patient / product recalls at the touch of a button, with greater reassurance of completeness, is a tremendous facility. This platform is about being accessible, reducing unnecessary waste, and being open to challenging about unwarranted clinical variation; and it is essential for an efficient hospital of the future. This award recognises that we are making strides to link Digital health and usable, good clinical practice.”
