Aire Logic would like to say a really big thank you to both Mark Simpson and Iona Taylor from Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust for presenting with us at the AHSN’s October Innovation event.
Mark and Iona shared the work they’ve undertaken to achieve a pilot with their Irritable Bowel Syndrome patients to see if Aire Logic’s forms4health eform solution can save clinical time and improve patient care.
The innovative team in the dietetics service looked at the Function Gut Disorder form and worked with Aire Logic to produce a forms4health electronic version of the form.
Three months after those first meetings, Iona and Mark reported that the form is now being sent to patients electronically for them to complete before their appointment. Following completion, the patient can submit the form and it will be on their medical record for the clinician to review before they attend their appointment.
It is still early days for the pilot, and the team have not yet fully evaluated the impact of the form, but early feedback from patients and clinicians is really positive, particularly regarding how easy the form is to use, and how it is saving time.
Mike Odling-Smee, Technical Director at Aire Logic said “Leeds Community Health have really worked innovatively with forms4health and delivered a great example of how the product can make a difference for patients becoming more involved in their care, and hopefully, over the longer term, improving patient experience and outcomes.”
