“Through our collaboration with Primary care and Community teams, we have seen first hand the innovations, desire and drive from the services to bring independence and empowerment to patients so their health and social care needs do not define the way they live their lives. Which is why we’re supporting the Community Award”.
Leeds-based tech firm Aire Logic is helping to transform the way our healthcare is delivered, by propelling it into the digital age.
When it comes to our health, it’s often doctors, nurses, surgeons and frontline staff that we think of first.
However, there is a huge ‘hidden health service’ that supports our healthcare – and we might not even realise it’s there.
Leeds-based health IT specialist, Aire Logics, is leading a behind-the-scenes digital revolution that has brought major benefits to Leeds patients and is now set to support health services in other areas of Yorkshire.
Using its leading technology, patients’ health records can be securely accessed at the push of a button by key health and community services via the Leeds Care Record.
It means GP’s, consultants, health specialists, and nurses – as well as certain community services such as social work and health visitors – can keep track of patients, better understand their needs and plan their future care seamlessly and instantly.
The system, for which Aire Logic has played a key role as interoperability specialists, is now seen as a ‘best practice’ model and is being expanded into the Humber Coast and Vale region. Aire Logic has also been added to the Discovery and Development Services Framework for the Yorkshire & Humber Care Record.
The firm has also been involved in developing Leeds Teaching Hospital’s Electronic Patient Record, which is now being developed for The Christie in Manchester. Plus, it’s involved in a range of national digital healthcare programmes.
Launched in 2007 by healthcare IT specialists Joesph Waller and Mike Odling-Smee, Aire Logic is also working at the community level with GPs and Community Healthcare Trusts.
Using a secure online system, certain patients with diabetes or Functional Gut Disorder can log their details online, where specialists can make care decisions without the hassle of them having to travel to the surgery.
Rising demand for Aire Logic’s skills has seen the business grow from 14 permanent members of staff to over 50 in the last year alone, while it works with up to 60 associates at any one time.
The firm will sponsor the Community Award at this year’s Yorkshire Evening Post Health Awards.
