A day in the life of an Internal Acquisition Partner at Aire Logic
We interviewed Grace to see what a normal working day involves as an Internal Acquisition Partner.
How do you get ready to start your day?
After I’ve dropped my son off at breakfast club I get home, or to the office if I have gone in, and start my day. Most important thing first, I make myself a coffee and then I take roughly 30 minutes to plan what my day looks like and then I have another coffee and get started with any calls and actions that need to be done.
What is a typical working day like?
I spend the first 30 minutes working out what my day is going to look like as well as opening and replying to any unread emails.
At 9.30am we have our daily recruitment stand up where we discuss the open roles we have, candidates in process and ongoing actions we are working on. My days can be very mixed. This can involve talking to candidates, working through open vacancies and some days I have lots of client meetings/calls to discuss their vacancies as well as projects that may be coming up that we might need to source for. In addition to that, our team works on internal mobility, this is where we look at our existing staff who are coming off projects and seeing where they will be going next.
What are you most looking forward to getting involved with?
I love getting involved in all sorts of stuff and I already actively help on the events committee as well as contributing to the Ahead Partnership. I am always looking to gain more skills so I am looking to do some agile training but other than that I am not sure I have time to get involved in anything else!
What is the most challenging part of your job?
People. You can go to someone with an amazing opportunity, get them through our process, they love the role, company etc but then at the last minute a curveball can happen and their mind is changed with sometimes very little you can do about it. This comes as part and parcel of working in recruitment but even though it can be frustrating I do love it.
How do you like to unwind after work?
I unwind by either watching TV or playing on the switch. I also do ice skating which I love and I am also going to PT sessions so I have a number of things that help me unwind.
