What inspired you to work in the tech industry?
When I left university I worked in IT & mobile telco contract recruitment, and that is what first got me interested in working in tech. I found reading the job specifications and speaking to the candidates really interesting as it sounded so varied and busy, which is what appealed to me. Most days in contract recruitment were quite similar which I found a little boring to be honest. I wanted new problems and new challenges on a regular basis and knew that working in tech would provide me with that. In the end, I took a risk and quit my recruitment job without having another one lined up. I looked for junior roles in big tech companies and managed to get one with a previous recruitment client. My plan was to start at the bottom, work hard for 5 years and make my way up the ladder, and luckily I managed to pull it off.
What do you like about working at Aire Logic?
The best thing about working at Aire Logic for me is that we’re not a traditional tech company and are allowed to innovate. We can try new things and if they fail, it’s not the end of the world as long as we learn from those mistakes. A great example of this is having a hybrid role which allows me to work in multiple areas of the business and makes sure my role doesn’t become stale.
