How long have you worked in your role/s?

25 over years as a Business Analyst, working at Aire Logic since March 2020

What inspired you to work in the tech industry?

I started working as a dental nurse when I left school at the age of 16. After having lived abroad for a few years and returning to the UK with 2 young children, I decided that I didn’t want to go back to working as a dental nurse but I didn’t have the experience or training to do a lot else. I then thought about doing a degree and read the courses on offer in all the Universities and Polytechnics that were within a commute from my home. I liked the sound of Information Systems at Staffordshire Poly (later to become a Uni while I was there) as it included a budding Business Analysis module, which said it involved building up relationships and interacting with people. I did a 4 year thick sandwich degree with an obligatory year out in industry which I spent working in the IT dept of an NHS District General Hospital. Since graduating I have worked continually in IT related jobs in various Business Analysis roles. Although I have worked in a number of different industries, I have always enjoyed working in Healthcare the most.

What do you like about working at Aire Logic?

I love that the company genuinely cares about the type of work they do and about its staff.They won’t hesitate to turn down work that doesn’t suit their ethics and they stand by and follow through on their motto: “Good for Healthcare, good for staff and good for Aire Logic”. Everyone is really supportive of each other and there is a feeling of being trusted and appreciated. It is the first company I have worked for that actually believes in and adheres to their policy on diversity and inclusivity.
